In 2019, the struggle for territorial and spiritual independence is not over for Ukraine. Five years after the Revolution of Dignity, Ukraine is still facing the aftermath of the humanitarian catastrophe caused by the ongoing war in the East of the country.
Since 2014 close to 2 million people were displaced from the Donbas region. Some of them have returned to their homes despite the ongoing war, as they could not find safe refuge elsewhere. Thousands of elderly people stayed in their destroyed villages or moved to the nearby cities in search of help. Every week a child loses a father or both parents to the war.
The work of the Ukrainian [Greek] Catholic Church is now more important than ever as it is supporting vulnerable people in all of Ukraine, including those affected by war. Join CNEWA in its efforts to help children, mothers, the elderly, and the marginalized in need in Ukraine.
